Anglia Square - What’s YOUR view:

Back in December a planning application went into Norwich City Council outlining the redevelopment of Anglia Square.

It prompted a massive response with over 700 objections. In only 10 months it has hit headlines repeatedly.

The Anglia Square redevelopment was proposed back in 2008 by Century Ashcroft LLP but due to the recession plans were shelved. Now it is back on the table with ideas for a 1250 new homes, a 20 story Tower block and a spend of anywhere between £250-£270m. Many people agree that the area needs regeneration and that its a perfect opportunity to do something ambitious and in keeping with the city. Parliamentary Candidate Dave Thomas said "I worked in St Crispins House for 10 years and went to Anglia Square most lunchtimes, not to mention I lived a 10 minutes' walk away on Norman Road. So it's an area I know well. I'd love to see it redeveloped but in the right way, its clear that the Tower Block has caused a lot of controversy".
